ASD Channel 14 Guest

The robotics team will host two business partners on Monday, March 22:  Dave Molletti, Programming for ASD Channel 14 and Heather Coulehan will help the team with their 3-minute movie on "Underage Drinking Prevention."  Through this grant project, our team is raising $1200 towards the travel and expenses for building our robot.

Ideas the team has come up with so far include:
HTH Team 1548 “Underage Drinking Prevention Movie”
Draft 3/7/09
Message:  3 minute video for students, ages 13-15, to prevent them from wanting to engage in drinking alcohol.

Persuasion techniques:  Humor, slapstick, silly, absurd, repetition, shock, deeper message
Considerations:  lifestyles of this age…positive peer pressure… choosing things to do with their friends that make sense.  (Need positive message for subtext… instead of “DON’T” message.)
Beginning:  Silly bus wiping out kid… or better yet.. KoolAid Guy, “Oh, yaaaa”
Middle:  20-sec clips of “silly” activities ending with “huh?” on the beer
End:  Punchline with repeated sound effect from above…. “Message” (TBA) something like, Make sense… be cool… choose water!
Final project due:  April 10, 2009
