Military Strategies Over Time (SE.PR 4.01)

Military Strategies over time will cover stratagies of major conflicts, as well as clash of cultures and religions.  Focus will be on Social Environments standards, but students may also master standards in PSS, Careers, and Technology. 

Activities include:
- Group Work
- Museum Walks / Presentations
- Movies
- Simulations
- Debates
- Strategy Games


Students have signed up to share some basics of the following conflicts:

-    Crusades (Ben & Eric)
-    French Revolution (Roxy)
-    Incas vs. Ch (Tim)
-    Civil War (Todd)
-    Geronimo (Jonathan)
-    WWI (Brant)
-    WWII (Aidan)
-    Vietnam (Taylor)
-    Cold War (Taylor)
-    Israel 6-day War (Gerald)
-    Desert Storm (David, Paul)
-    Afganistan (Jason)
-    Zombies Survival (Michael & Shaun)
-    Star Wars (Ian, Ari, Micah)

For Thursday, Feb. 4, students will report on:
1)    When
2)    Where (map)
3)    Why
4)    How (‘strategies’)
5)    Who
6)    Statistics

We will be building on these facts.  We will also be reading “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu, which is a required text.  It is available on-line, as a free download.
