Political & Economic Trends (SE.EG 6.02)

What political and economic trends do we see in America today?  How do they affect foreign policies?  How do they affect me personally?  Based on the statistics, what trends will I predict and why?  Students will explore the struggles between political majority and minority issues, based on economic and political statistics.   Reviewing publications put out by both parties, conclusions will be made on what things we can do today to either support these efforts, or convince our decision-makers to take other actions.

SE.EG 6.02 = Uses historical data and demographics to predict future political and economic trends.
PROFICIENT = *Explores correlations.  For example:  the past party majorities (in the: Senate, House of Representatives, and White House), and the economic status of the country (recession, prosperity, etc.).
*Uses the political and economical data collected to predict future trends.
*Examines epic events (such as wartime) and the effects on politics and economics both nationally and internationally.
*Describes how the relations between countries can influence outcomes (trade, support, military operations, etc.).
