Industrial Revolution (SE.US 4.08)

What were some of the reasons the USA became an industrial leader?  What industries sprang out of this time period?  Who were some influential people of the time, and how did they rise to the occasion?  What inventions were created that we still use today?  In this unit, we will explore causes and effects of the expansion of science and technology in America from 1860-1920, including railroad, oil, and inventions.

SE.US 4.08 = Describes the factors that created the Industrial Revolution.
PROFICIENT = *Identifies and describe important inventions during the Industrial Revolution.
*Evaluates working conditions in factories.
*Describes the spread of monopolies.
*Analyzes changes in society brought about by the move from an agrarian to an industrial nation.
